Monday, October 15, 2018 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Aging Resource Center at 46 Centerra Parkway in Lebanon, NH (or at the ARC Annex, 10 Campbell St, Lebanon NH; check the ARC website for location)
The Dartmouth-Hitchcock Aging Resource Center (ARC) offers wellness workshops, lectures, support groups, a library, and resources and consultations for Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and dementia, among many other resources for aging. Our very own Renée Harvey and Jamie Thaxton will lead a discussion as part of the ARC's Fall 2018 Programming:
Join elder law attorneys Renée Harvey and Jamie Thaxton of Caldwell Law for a discussion of long-term care planning considerations. It is imperative that seniors, those approaching retirement age, and the families of those needing long-term care take advantage of the planning opportunities that exist today. We will discuss estate planning that everyone should have and options for paying for your long-term care, including Medicaid. While this program is not intended as a substitute for a personal appointment with an attorney, you will have the opportunity to hear about typical issues and problems that can be addressed by adequate planning. This discussion is also very helpful for those who will be serving as agents or caregivers to loved ones.
Caldwell Law attorneys Renée and Jamie will lead a discussion of long-term care planning. Everyone needs to consider long-term care planning—proper planning can make a big difference. Unfortunately, many people wait until it is too late. How you approach your planning may depend on your income and resources. The session will cover the important of planning for incapacity, some of the resource-neutral basics, and then explore considerations when planning to qualify for needs-based benefits through Medicaid.
